Harvesting Innovation: Geospatial Intelligence and Precision Ag
April 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

ABOUT THE LIVE WEBINAR
Discover how geospatial intelligence is transforming broadband access in agriculture and rural development during Harvesting Innovation: Geospatial Intelligence and Precision Ag. Participants will explore publicly available geospatial analysis tools that support local broadband deployment, including the National Broadband Navigator, which helps identify connectivity gaps, estimate deployment costs, and advocate for funding using data-driven insights. The session will also highlight findings from the Extension Broadband Team’s work with the FCC Precision Agriculture Task Force, which revealed that 96.1 percent of U.S. cropland lies within ten miles of fiber optic infrastructure. These insights underscore that closing the connectivity gap in precision agriculture is not only possible but within reach. Learn how the integration of broadband and geospatial tools can advance precision ag, bridge the digital divide, and strengthen agricultural communities nationwide.
