ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Are you currently a farmer who is concerned about how you can achieve your desired retirement lifestyle while still being able to transition a viable business to the next generation or operator? Worried about what your retirement living expenses will be or how Social Security or Medicare fits into the picture? If so, the Setting the Stage for Succession: Retirement Planning workshop is for you. This workshop will assist you in envisioning your retirement, developing a retirement budget and personal balance sheet, and understanding the basics of Social Security and Medicare.

Participants will receive a copy of the FarmPro PA Excel spreadsheet tool, a package containing templates for business and personal financial statements, and will also be eligible to receive follow-up, personalized financial planning and Social Security planning information at no cost.

- New and beginning farmers who want to develop retirement goals
- Any farmer who wants to learn more about the retirement planning process
What will you learn?
- How to envision your ideal retirement and develop retirement goals
- How to develop a personal balance sheet using the FarmPro PA Excel spreadsheet tool
- The process of developing a retirement budget
- When and how to apply for Social Security
- When and how to apply for Medicare
